Data Model Synchronization

The Data Model Synchronization plugin provides schema extraction, comparison, and synchronization capabilities for CMDBuild instances.

The plugin is designed to support:

  • Configuration deployment between CMDBuild environments
  • CMDBuild plugin installation and upgrade procedures
  • Schema migration between different systems
  • Controlled synchronization of data model changes

The plugin operates on CMDBuild schema objects and supports the management of:

  • Classes and Attributes
  • Processes and related XPDL definitions
  • Domains
  • Lookup Types and Lookup Values
  • DMS Models
  • DMS Categories
  • Context Menu JavaScript Components

The plugin can generate a complete schema representation, compare different schema versions, and apply schema differences to a target system while respecting all model dependencies and creation constraints.

Schema synchronization is performed through a structured diff process that identifies inserted, removed, and modified schema objects and applies the required changes in the correct dependency order
