Localization and Configuration

Overview

This section introduces three key areas of the CMDBuild Administration Module — Localization, Server Configuration, and System Configuration.
These functionalities allow administrators to customize the user interface, manage system services, and define the behavior of the CMDBuild instance according to organizational needs.

The following pages provide detailed descriptions of each configuration area, including available parameters, supported operations, and interface examples.

Localization

The Localization module manages all translation aspects of the CMDBuild interface.
It includes:

  • First‑level localization for system interface elements
  • Second‑level localization for application components such as classes, attributes, processes, domains, menus, and dashboards
  • Tools for importing and exporting translations in CSV format

The interface provides a unified workspace where administrators can view, edit, and maintain all translations associated with the active languages of the instance.

Server Configuration

The Server Configuration area offers monitoring and control tools for system services and runtime operations.
From here, administrators can:

  • View and analyze bus messages and task messages
  • Perform system actions such as dropping the cache or unlocking cards
  • Manage log files and configuration
  • Monitor and control CMDBuild service status

These tools help maintain system stability and support troubleshooting activities.

System Configuration

The System Configuration section provides access to all global parameters that define the behavior of the CMDBuild environment.
It includes configuration pages for:

  • General system options (formats, timeouts, UI behavior)
  • Authentication modules and password policies
  • Multitenant mode
  • Workflow engine settings
  • Relation graph visualization

These parameters allow the administrator to tailor CMDBuild to operational needs, ensuring consistency, security, and usability across the instance.
